About SERAMAR HOTELS
Family-run Mallorcan holiday chain consisting of two hotels of 4 and 3 stars located, one on the beachfront in Palmanova and the other in Bahia de Palma / El Arenal, one of the most popular leisure areas of Mallorca.
The challenge
The Seramar Hotels team wanted to push its semi-flexible rate with a partial payment prior to arrival and according to a lead-time, collect the rest at the hotel. At the same time, it wanted to ensure the collection of the flexible rate penalty prior to arrival to guarantee payment of the flexible rate.
They also needed a solution with more payment options and flexibility to be more competitive with other distribution channels that already offer them.
Finding a solution that would allow them to improve all collection processes, automating them and reducing the manual burden was also a necessity to reduce administrative costs.
The solution
ePayments Manager, as a solution for automating and splitting payments, validates guests' credit cards at the time of purchase and triggers automatic collection of the reservation amount in accordance with your cancellation policy.
With ePayments Manager, Seramar Hotels has been able to split the semi-flexible rate payments into three installments (2 before arrival and a third with the remaining amount at the hotel) according to rules defined in the system and in accordance with the advance period.
Additionally, with the tool, they can charge a penalty of 1 night of the flexible rate 3 days prior to arrival, which is when the cancellation fee is charged. If the reservation is made with less than 3 days, 1 night is automatically charged at the time of booking.
The results
100% of reservations with payment through the POS, validating and tokenizing the cards, with total or partial payment before arrival. This has generated for Seramar Hotels:
