GHA delays closing of commissionable model
news
January 8, 2025
In the first quarter of 2024, Google announced that from 31st October this year, commission-based bidding strategies per consumed stay and per conversion would no longer be available for hotels. This decision is due to the impending removal of third-party cookies, which presents challenges in measuring and controlling commissions.
On 22nd July 2024, Google provided an update stating that due to the high volume of requests from advertisers seeking more time to transition their campaigns to the cost-per-click (CPC) model, they have decided to postpone the discontinuation of the commission-based model (per stay and conversion) until 20th February 2025.
Historical campaign data will also remain accessible until this date.
At Roiback, we have already committed to maintaining the commission-bidding model of Google Hotel Ads for our hotel clients. We aim to provide solutions that minimise the risks associated with advertising investments while delivering high conversion rates and profitability.
Following this new update from Google, Roiback will continue with our plan to uphold the commission-based bidding model for our clients once Google discontinues this option.
