New optimization opportunities in Trivago
news
December 13, 2024
As part of our metasearch optimization strategy, we are already working with trivago on a commission per checkout model, which excludes cancellations, just like Google and Tripadvisor.
Increased bid granularity
From October, trivago will double the number of bidding options from 6 to 12, increasing hotel visibility and the ability to optimise conversion, maximise ROI, and ensure your ads are competitive.
If you have not yet activated it, contact your DCS to activate your commissionable campaigns on trivago.
Minimum bid adjustments
To ensure competitiveness, trivago will increase minimum CPA values in some markets starting in October 2024. Bids of 11% or more won't be affected.
The new minimum net CPAs per market:
- 7.20%: Japan
- 8.40%: Arab World, United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Croatia, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, India, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Slovakia, Thailand, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Vietnam, South Africa
- 9.60%: Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Turkey
- 10.80%: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States of America
Optimization
We will implement these changes for all clients with active trivago campaigns. If you would like to review or adjust your campaigns, please contact your DCS before 30 September for any modifications or de-registration of campaigns on trivago.
