Roiback, specialist and leader in the management of the direct sales channel for hotels, has won for the fourth consecutive year the award for "Europe's Leading Hotel Booking Solutions Provider" at the World Travel Awards 2019, the most important awards in the international tourism sector. Thus, BackHotel 5.0, the technology company's booking engine based in Palma de Mallorca, is consolidated as the best solution for the European tourism industry.

The awards ceremony was held on June 8 in Funchal, the capital of the Portuguese island of Madeira. The World Travel Awards are one of the largest distinctions in the sector internationally and award prizes in more than a hundred categories, including destinations, hotels, airlines or travel agencies, among others. The winner of each of the categories is chosen based on the votes of more than 200,000 professionals from the sector from different countries around the world, in addition to the public vote carried out through the website.

Pioneering technology and commitment to innovation

In line with its commitment to continuous innovation, Roiback has launched during the first half of 2019 the new version of its booking engine, BackHotel 5.0. In addition, it has recently announced its integration with Book on Google (BoG), the function of the technology giant that allows hotel reservations to be made without leaving the search engine. Thanks to this agreement, Roiback's clients will benefit from a higher conversion rate and a lower acquisition cost, as well as being able to access markets that were less accessible until now.

Among some of the latest improvements that Roiback has launched this year is the room or meal plan upgrade system, which allows the client to improve their reservation before entering the hotel with a single click, which contributes to increasing revenue per reservation for the hotelier.

International expansion

Roiback was created in 2010 in Palma de Mallorca and during this time has grown like no other player in the sector. In the last three years, it has multiplied its number of employees by five and already has a portfolio of more than 1,500 clients in 50 countries around the world. The company's headquarters are in Palma, but they also have offices in Barcelona, Seville, Milan, Lisbon, Miami, Bali, Bangkok, Singapore, Cancun, Medellin, Bogota.
